According to ancient Korean tradition, carrying an item of genuine eel skin will bring luck and prosperity to its owner. Therefore, local production of purses in eel skin has been taking place through many generations in South Korea. The eel skin used is a bi-product from the food industry and comes from the deep sea eels, that are not similar to the European eel. The eel skin items are 100% handmade according to old production traditions. Each piece of eel skin is cut out by hand using a mould. Subsequently each piece is sewn together on sewing machines.
Tip: Protect your eel skin item with a clear leather spray. If the eel skin turns dull, iron it at low heat under a tea towel to recover the shine of the leather.
